Let’s step away from the barking news cycle for a moment. Away from the images of horrific people doing horrific things in the name of something whose name shouldn’t be so dirtied. Islam has gotten a bad rap in the last, let’s be real, fifty years. But remember that there are dangerous extremists tucked in every corner of every religion and creed. Anyone can divert morality, decency, and responsibility by claiming direction from an unassailable and conveniently unreachable Higher Authority. If I were a Muslim I’d be horrified about the religion’s public perception, just as I would be as a Christian during the Crusades. Don’t judge the many by the wild-eyed few.
