Is it a real hospital made of cards? Is it the hospital of a town called Card? No. It is a hospital for sick and injured playing cards. I’ve said it before, there is not limit to the creativity of a child left on their own with some basic supplies and tools. What to do with a little brother who decides to rip up some playing cards, a shoe box, some brown wrapping paper, pencil, and tape? Make a complete rehabilitation and recuperation facility like a Victorian sanatorium in the Alps. Here, playing cards are nursed back to health with individual beds, pillows, and are admitted and discharged on a custom-made gurney which slides them in the door like a pizza on a peel. Need any cards fixed? Send them to the card hospital!*
*This post is especially for my sister, who would often make detailed games out of scraps of paper and painted rocks, with arcane and shifting rules. Me and my brother and parents would be subjected to these games for hours. This card hospital is in the spirit of these games, made lovingly, but essentially, from trash.
And the reason we all spend a ton of $$$$at Christmas is…why???
