Time for a few housekeeping notes about the blog. For anyone who’s noticed, the Winter War book has been pulled from the writing tab. Why? Nobody went to visit or read through it, reinforcing my understanding about reading books—good in book form, not so much on a computer screen. Also the book is undergoing a complete overhaul and should be much better, so I don’t want that dreck up there now. Also, the second podcast is recorded but not posted. Why? I don’t like editing. I have about 60 minutes of talk and interview to edit down to a 10-minute podcast. And I already did it once only to have the program crash so I lost all progress. Nonetheless it will get issued eventually and should go out before the end of the month.
I promised errata and here’s more: Google Street View. Is there something cool about seeing the actual car, the eye that dispassionately records our world as viewed from our arterial network of roads? I don’t know, but here it is, one of the cars. I really wish a robot drove it, to complete the feeling of…I don’t know, the Galactic Empire sending out probe droids to all corners of the universe.
Finally, it’s the season of thanks and a time to reflect on what’s really important in life. Fellow blogger Erin has been doing this on her blog, and my daughter has her own take, memorialized on a paper plate. Never mind the odd punctuation, focus on the message. Shouldn’t we all be thankful for princesses?
